Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a disease affecting the parturient during late pregnancy or immediately after delivery. This unique disorder not just endangers the life of mother and fetus, but also a financial burden on health system due to its potential to cause prolonged and persistent cardiac function insufficiency in the mother, prolonging hospital stay. Here, we are reporting a case of PPCM diagnosed postoperatively, which initially misdiagnosed as hemorrhagic shock due to postpartum hemorrhage, but with the correct diagnosis and treatment, patient rapidly return to the normal life. |
